About the Role

Wise Minds Therapeutic Services LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Community-Based One-to-One Support Staff to provide direct supervision, mentoring, behavioral support, and life skills coaching to youth receiving out-of-home and community-based services across Western Maryland.

This role focuses on ensuring the safety, stability, and emotional well-being of youth while supporting the development of social, coping, and independent living skills. Staff work closely with clinical leadership and care coordination teams to implement individualized service plans in home and community settings.

Candidates with experience in behavioral health, assisted living, healthcare support, residential services, youth mentoring, or direct care are encouraged to apply.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Support & Supervision

โœ”๏ธ Provide one-to-one supervision and support to youth in home, school, and community settings
โœ”๏ธ Model appropriate social, coping, and communication skills
โœ”๏ธ Assist youth in developing independence, emotional regulation, and daily living skills
โœ”๏ธ Accompany youth to appointments, activities, and community-based programs as needed
โœ”๏ธ Maintain professional boundaries using a trauma-informed approach

Behavioral & Clinical Support

โœ”๏ธ Implement individualized behavioral strategies based on service plans
โœ”๏ธ Participate in crisis prevention and de-escalation interventions
โœ”๏ธ Monitor and document behavioral progress and daily activities
โœ”๏ธ Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding youth progress and concerns
โœ”๏ธ Reinforce positive behaviors and support youth during emotional challenges

Documentation & Compliance

โœ”๏ธ Complete service notes, progress reports, and timesheets accurately and timely
โœ”๏ธ Maintain confidentiality and comply with DHS, COMAR, and agency standards
โœ”๏ธ Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings

Requirements

๐Ÿ”น Must be 21 years or older with a valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation
๐Ÿ”น High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of experience OR Associateโ€™s degree + 1 year in human services, behavioral health, healthcare support, or related field
๐Ÿ”น Experience working with at-risk youth, foster care, behavioral health, assisted living, residential care, or community-based populations preferred
๐Ÿ”น Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
๐Ÿ”น Must pass CJIS background check, CPS clearance, and sex offender registry screening

โœ”๏ธ Psychiatric Rehabilitation Staff
โœ”๏ธ Youth Mentor or Community Support Worker

Training & Certification Requirements

Staff are required to complete the following (preferred at hire, required upon onboarding):

โœ”๏ธ CPR and First Aid Certification
โœ”๏ธ Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) or equivalent
โœ”๏ธ Trauma-Informed Care Training
โœ”๏ธ Mandated Reporter Training
โœ”๏ธ HIPAA / Confidentiality Compliance
โœ”๏ธ DHS-required onboarding and orientation

Wise Minds provides support and reimbursement for required trainings.

Ongoing Professional Development

All staff must complete a minimum of two (2) in-service trainings annually, including topics such as:

โœ”๏ธ Executive Skills Coaching

Schedule & Compensation

๐Ÿ•’ Flexible scheduling available, including day, evening, after-school, and weekend shifts based on youth needs

๐Ÿ’ฐ $20 - $25 per hour based on experience and qualifications
